Weddings in Perth Amid Coronavirus

Has your wedding been affected by the Coronavirus outbreak?

Thursday, 26 March 2020

With the Government restrictions that mean only 5 people can be at your wedding, you might wonder how your friends and family can still share your special day with you.

Whately Photography have partnered with Ithaka Media to make the option of live streaming weddings available to you for your family and friends that are now unable to make it to your wedding.

Recent weddings have seen large numbers of guests unable to attend. As a result, live steamed weddings have been requested by a number of couples who have preferred not to cancel or postpone their wedding.

As the virus crisis has been developing, the team at Whately Photography have promptly investigated options to assist you with last minute changes to your wedding plans, including rescheduling weddings and adjusting services to accommodate new plans.

Under current restrictions, we’re still able to deliver live streamed weddings with one of two options:

  1. One or two of our team members would also be the witnesses at the wedding ceremony, or
  2. We set up cameras, leave while the ceremony is taking place, and return to collect the equipment afterwards.

Over the past few weeks, the team at Whately Photography have investigated the technologies required for live streaming on location and invested in the equipment required to live stream weddings over Optus’ 4G cellular network.

A partnership with Ithaka Media was formed to enable a higher capacity to deal with demand for wedding live streaming services and to facilitate multiple camera angles.

If you are getting married during this Corona Virus crisis, we would love to have a chat about bringing your family and friends together.
